UPDATE: Police investigation blocking southbound 35th SW at Webster

5:15 PM: Police at the scene aren’t saying much but the black car in the southbound lane of 35th SW just north of SW Webster is stolen, according to scanner traffic, and officers are searching for two men last seen running west from there. A K-9 team is now joining the search.

6:06 PM: No luck so far in finding the suspects. The car is no longer in the travel lane.

Whitnessed this crash. I was 2 cars ahead of it heading south. Heard a boom then saw a dazed young white male exiting the vehicle with a backpack. There was another African-American male in the passenger seat that also got out. I thought maybe they were going to the sidewalk but it turns out they ran. Thought it seemed kinda weird. The white kid looked spooked.

Tried calling the police, been on hold now for 10 minutes…..

Did you call 911? Don’t EVER call the non-emergency number. Tell them it’s about the search now on 35th at Webster.

We saw them come running through the houses on 36th. Just gave a detailed description on the non emergency line, pressed 6 and didn’t wait too long. Agreed that they were visibly shaken and we reported that they were changing clothes as they went by.

I that why I saw the officers and K-9 Unit come up our Driveway over on SW Austin St and take the K-9 to the back yard over the wall.

We live behind the 4 Plex behind the Auto Shop. One minute we see them come up the driveway the next they disappeared up the wall. Heard the officer say a command to the dog in the process. WOW. Never Seen this coming.

Any news on the suspects at all? Is there a full description of them or what they were wearing after they changed cloths?

I was the unfortunate guy they rear ended before they ran. THANK GOD FOR UNINSURED MOTORIST INSURANCE! A broken tail bone, and a cracked rib later…….thieves suck
