The most delicious fundraiser of the year is now just a yummy memory – the Taste of West Seattle, with dozens of food/beverage providers delighting hundreds of ticketholders, filled The Hall at Fauntleroy on Thursday night – all to help West Seattle Helpline provide emergency assistance to neighbors in need.
From title sponsor Metropolitan Market, Jude and Megan were serving crostini topped with stretched mozzarrella and tomato bruschetta:
Also from Admiral, Mioposto‘s Bobby, Jeremy, Tiah, and Jayme served Tomato-Tonnato Salad:
From The Junction, Dream Dinners West Seattle was there with Kim, Gretchen, and Leslie presenting chipotle shrimp with mango salsa:
More of the deliciousness after the jump:
From Salty’s on Alki, Levi, Robert, and Jeremy offered charred Spanish octopus with Korean chili vinaigrette, fried-garlic oil, and aromatics:
You can probably guess what the Harry’s Chicken Joint team from north Morgan Junction brought:
Yes, that’s chicken with the cole slaw. Salad – Emerald City Salad, to be specific – was also on the menu dished up by Felipe from PCC Natural Markets – carrot cake too:
Among the new venues this year, A la Mode Pies, on its way to The Junction – Madeline and Jeff brought cinnamon-apple pie:
That’s one of the “boozy milkshake” flavors you can name – if you haven’t already seen this WSB story from earlier in the day. Speaking of beverages, they were available too – we saw Tom from West Seattle Cellars:
Brooks from Zeeks Pizza, pouring Hawaii 5-0 Cider and Hop Tropic Northwest IPA:
The people and treats we’ve shown you are just a small slice of the more than 40 food/beverage providers who were there. We’ll be checking in with Helpline later this morning for post-Taste updates.
ADDED 11:51 AM: Just in, the results of the vote:
Best Taste: Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes (2nd year in a row)
Best Pour: Beveridge Place
Best Sweet: Stuffed Cakes (4th year in a row)
Helpline executive director Chris Langeler also tells WSB that the event raised at least $63,000 and they are still tallying.
(Our customary disclosure: Metropolitan Market, Mioposto, Dream Dinners, Salty’s, and PCC are WSB sponsors.)
