Here’s one way Seattle DID beat New England, thanks to you

If you haven’t entirely cheered up postgame yet – here’s some consolation, from Betsy at Tibbetts United Methodist Church (WSB sponsor):

Here’s the outcome from Tibbetts UMC in the United in Blue food drive challenge – Seattle versus New England. The Tibbetts grand total was 1215 food items (money donated counts as 1 food item per dollar). Deliveries were made Monday to the West Seattle and White Center food banks.

The counts from other churches in Seattle – and really all across Washington – are continuing to come in but total over 43,000 food items right now and we’re so far ahead of the New England counts that Seattle has been declared the winner this year.

Big thanks to the WS Blog for publishing info about the United in Blue food drive Challenge and to those who were able to donate in person or on line. We may not have won the game Sunday but we’ll be making a difference in the lives of the people of our communities. Way to go, United in Blue!

Okay, I’m relieved to see WSB acknowledge the outcome of the game. I didn’t see *any* mention of it after all the build-up, and was afraid that our All Seeing Eye either missed it (hah!) or was in denial.

Matt, there really wasn’t anything more to say – given there were about six million places people could get the score and intensive play by play. I personally didn’t watch most of the game – it was a rare opportunity to catch a badly needed nap with some hope that no one much would be out causing breaking news – but did return to work with enough time in the fourth quarter to (a) be ready to head down to look for celebrations IF they were in order, which led to (b) actually seeing the hard-to-believe final moments, both the almost-didn’t-catch-that play and the interception play. We actually had our shoes on and camera/laptop bags slung BETWEEN those two plays just in case – then sat down, stunned … TR

I suppose we were all stunned at once! I figured nearly as much, I was just surprised since you seemingly (and amazingly) cover everything from “giant explosion” down to “pigeon nesting in strange place.” Thanks for the incredible work you do!

Sorry, comment time is over.
