West Seattle weekend scenes: Mini Monster Dash-ers

We missed the 5K that started this morning’s second annual West Seattle Monster Dash, but got to Lincoln Park in time to see some of the little ones readying for the kid dashes that followed.

Three more photos ahead:

The Monster Dash is the only costumes-encouraged run/walk event in West Seattle – and it benefits the SSCC Cooperative Preschool program.

Never know who you’ll see. The uniformed dash-er here is Daelen:

P.S. This is the start of a week of Halloween-ing; check our event guide for more of what’s ahead (including the costume parade at 11:30 am Sunday during the West Seattle Junction Harvest Festival).

Such a great, festive, feel-good, community event. Hope it continues for years to come. Also, a fun and active alternative during the crazy sugar rush that is to come next week!

I’ve never been in the military, but somehow feel I should be saluting Daelen! ;-)
