Another photographer with a new show: 9-year-old Audrey

Tomorrow night is West Seattle Art Walk (6-9 pm, all over WS). That’s not the only time you can enjoy art around the peninsula; new work is put up in local businesses all the time. Like images by young photographer Audrey Strevey, at Red Cup Espresso in The Junction, with part of the proceeds from any sales going to charity. Her proud mom Beth Bakeman sent us news of the show – as well as the photo above, and this bio that Audrey wrote:

Audrey Strevey is 9 years old. Taking photos has been her passion her whole life, and she recently acquired a Nikon D70.

Her new dog, Stirling, pushed her to go to the Westcrest dog park and discover her true talent, animal photography.

Audrey is pleased Red Cup Espresso is displaying her photos and hopes there will be more opportunities in the future.

She is donating 50% of her profit to PAWS, the animal shelter where her two 4-year old cats came from, to give thanks and show her appreciation.

PAWS is a champion for animals—rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife, sheltering and adopting homeless cats and dogs, and educating people to make a better world for animals and people.

What a delightful picture of a Basset Hound melting into the ground. :)

Seriously, that is a great picture, the young lady has copious talent, I hope she continues to do well.

A talent like this should be nurtured and I htink she is in the right place that to happen.

My apologies, I see Red Cup’s website doesn’t seem to be up – I type many web addresses from memory and wouldn’t expect to have to check an open business’s site to see if it’s up. 4451 California SW, just south of Pagliacci in The Junction – TR

Great photo by Audrey, and lovely picture of her! I’m looking forward to seeing her exhibit and more of Stirling. And thanks WSB for the Art Walk reminder!

Audrey is just simply an amazing young woman with great talent well beyond her years. I’ve watched her at Westcrest focusing intently and happy to ask for input, sharing her extensive knowledge of photography, and just rolling with it. Well-spoken and kind-hearted.

She is also, though, a true animal lover, which is what gives her the ability to “get” each dog and make her photos capture.

Audrey is one to take note of.

The last website was marketing for solar epiphany and was taken down by previous owner. You can see our address on Urban Spoon and Yelp. There is that good ole facebook too. Audrey does great work and we are excited to be showing her work! Great job Audrey, thank you. :)

    • WSB January 12, 2012 (7:09 pm)

Thanks, Breanna. Unfortunately, Facebook doesn’t index well in search so if people are looking for you via Google, you’re losing the traffic – I’d suggest a free blog-format site, even (bet some domains are available like redcupwestseattle, redcupseattle) … no reason to let a third party own your info on the web! But that’s just the marketer in me speaking. We look forward to checking out Audrey’s art while it’s there – TR
