The name game, yet again

Joining the WS Condo/Townhome Name Hall o’Fame along with Verge, NoMo 12, SeventyOne, Bayberry, Sea Holly, and so on, we now have Stratus and Gables — the names Mosaic is giving its condo conversions (“Stratus”=Graham Street Apts., sold for $9 million; “Gables”=West Ridge Park, sold for $22 million). We would like to see developers/marketers consider names that pay homage to the process, perhaps a townhouse complex called Nocquedowne and a condo conversion called Evixus.

nice to see that I’m not the only one up late. I love those names, especially Evixus….who do they pay to think up things like Bayberry (a candle scent?), Sea Holly ( a sunken ship?)…better yet, how much do they pay them/
I’d consider going back to work in an office if it paid enuff…lol…

I love your name choices, WSB! I used to live at West Ridge Park … oh, I’m sorry, I mean Gables … and knew they’d be changing the name of it. Mosaic seems to name everything a one word name, some more ridiculous than others. When we got our overpriced offer to purchase that deathtrap, they told us that the theme would be “urban farmhouse,” whatever the heck that means, so I guess Gables is supposed to go along with that. All I know is that when I saw the samples of the new kitchen cabinets, it looked like cheap country kitchen.
This doesn’t pertain to WS, but a friend send me this link to a video about a condo conversion gone wrong up in Everett, if anybody’s interested: http://www.king5.com/sharedcontent/VideoPlayer/videoPlayer.php?s=y&vidId=160798&catId=81

Sorry, comment time is over.
