Welcoming another sponsor: Hometown Holidays in The Junction

bighometownholidays.jpgThis weekend is going to be the biggest holiday bash ever in The Junction, and we are thrilled that the West Seattle Junction Association has chosen to advertise on WSB to make double-extra-triple-sure you know about Hometown Holidays (joining our other fabulous WSB sponsors — Hotwire Coffee and Garlic Jim’s Pizza in The Junction, Click! Design That Fits in the Admiral District, local Realtor Bill Barna, and local Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist Rhonda Porter.) As the holiday season really gets into swing, we’ve already brought you previews of the two-day Hometown Holidays celebration – including last week, when we alerted you that the WSJA website had posted new details, including word of a new location for the official West Seattle Christmas Tree (which will be lit during a don’t-miss ceremony at 6 pm Saturday). Now the fun is just days away: Noon-7 pm Saturday, 10 am-5 pm Sunday. Here are even more details (see you there!):

The West Seattle Junction Association is hosting the 2007 Hometown Holidays – Light Up the Junction, a festive extravaganza at the Hometown Holidays Headquarters located in the Farmers Market Parking Lot on December 1st and 2nd (schedule below). The two-day event will bring together the community for FREE activities such as Santa Photos, Ornament Making, Kid-A-Raoke, Carriage Rides and more, along with special Holiday Vending Booths, an Adult Cheer Garden, and Warm Clothes Drive. Visitors will receive walking maps listing special in-store activities hosted throughout the Junction by various Merchants. In addition, there will be the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and celebration of the newly planted Community Tree in the Hometown Holidays Headquarters at 6 PM on Saturday, December 1st. More information provided below.

Wanted to let everyone know that Pathfinder K-8’s PTSA will be selling beautiful handmade wreaths (made from local greens) at Hometown Holidays this weekend, as well as at the Farmers Market thru December. Proceeds (over 90% of purchase price) go directly to supporting our outdoor education adventures and all wreaths are made by Pathfinder parents, teachers, and students!

The Pathfinder K-8 community is also supporting the Junction Association and has volunteered to staff a kids’ ornament-making booth.

We look forward to seeing all of our neighbors there this weekend!

Who wouldn’t advertise on WSB? Look at all the great press and mentions you receive in addition to a link on their infamous local blog!

Hey, you cuddly anonymous WSB people!

Please stop infesting your main articles with the “great press” of a laundry list and blathering praise of your sponsors. It degrades the quality of the blog when you drool all over it like that.

The sponsors undoubtedly are all great people. But this is what those simple, tasteful links over on the side of the page are for. Don’t make us break out the water cannon on you.

    geez….

Awww, nobody ever called us “cuddly” before.

Personally, I don’t mind the reminders in articles about sponsors. First of all, if someone pays to advertise, they deserve to be advertised. And if this advertising helps keep my favorite website running, so be it. If you don’t want to read a particular entry, just scroll on past it. I welcome the reminders, and it actually got me to go to Hotwire for the first time, so the advertising is working.

Sorry, comment time is over.
