Youngstown Coffee in the Morgan Junction is hiring a part-time barista. Our mission is to use our small coffee shop for some big movement in our community while serving delicious drinks by kind and authentic baristas. Apply by emailing your resume to hello@youngstowncoffeeseattle.com

We’re looking for an experienced Barista to provide excellent customer service, expertly prepare espresso and non-caffeinated drinks, warm up breakfast and lunch items, keep the shop clean and organized, and be knowledgeable about the organizations/people we support. You must be available to work weekends and be on-call for back up needs. Note: this position’s compensation includes base pay and a tip guarantee. $20-23 an hour

General Responsibilities

Greet customers as they enter and provide personable and positive customer service
Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. espresso preferences, types of milk, syrups, etc.)
Prepare beverages expertly with the correct sweetness and milk temp
Warm up prepared breakfast to-go items such as sandwiches, bagels, and pastries
Knowledge of Square POS is preferred
Eagerness to learn about the BIPOC/LGBTQ orgs we support
Keep the shop tidy and clean, using checklists during slow times
Maintain stock and inventory, re-stock retail shelves
Comply with health and safety regulations
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID

Skills

Previous work experience as a Barista
Available on weekends and for backup shifts
Ability to gauge customers preferences
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Enjoys chatting with folks and getting to know them on a personal level
Cares about social justice issues
