WSPBParticipantWest Seattle Neighbors, I am a Medical Microbiologist and West Seattle mom of two kids; a 10-year-old and 14-year-old. I was recruited to perform CORVID-19 testing at the University of Washington Medical Center in the Crisis Response Lab. The lab will be testing 24/7 and I will very likely be working some evening and night hours. I am a single mother and I can’t leave my kids home alone at night to be at the lab. For the next 13 weeks, are there any West Seattle families who would be willing to be with my children for occasional overnights so I know they are safe and taken care of while I work to hasten the end of the pandemic?
*Please note: I would not normally consider asking for help caring for my children but these are extraordinary circumstances for all of us.

angelescrestParticipantYou do need help, and there’s an excel sheet and many offers circulating on Nextdoor. I know people will offer to help. I can’t–I have my own child with a metabolic disorder, but please go to the Nextdoor site ASAP and ask there or respond to the many posts. If I can bring some food over, booksm, games, etc., just let me know. We’re so appreciative of your efforts.

TheNationParticipantHi!
I would love to help. I’m in West Seattle and my son attends Madison (he’s 14 and is also looking to help out parents when he’s home from dad’s – who is also in WS)
email: athenanation1308@gmail.com
phone: 206-883-4437I’m in healthcare but currently not working which SUCKS! My internship was cancelled and school is in limbo.
Love to see how we can help.
Thank you!
Athena
