villagegreenMemberJust wondering if anyone has updated info regarding the mentioned possibility of Wing Dome opening in the old Capers spot in the Junction?
Sign in the window still says for lease, so I’m assuming the talks fell through. Anyone know for sure? I was ambivalent about having their big neon sign tower over that location, but I sure could go for some super spicy wings and a beer during this cold weather.

JenVMemberuntil they open, I suggest the Afterburner Wings at the Feedback Lounge. If they don’t warm you up, nothing will.

villagegreenMemberJenV – thanks! I had forgotten about the Afterburner wings. I actually had some at the Feedback about a month ago and they definitely pack a mean punch…best I’ve had in a while. Wish it was happy hour right about now.

WSBKeymasterI’ll check with Consolidated Restaurants. These projects tend to take a long time so it wasn’t on my front burner, so to speak, but questions about “whatever happened to …” are always a great nudge.

KBearParticipantIf they’re not going to open a Wingdome, they could always put in a… Oh, never mind!

WSBKeymasterTalked to him most recently and he said he was paying rent as of – I think it was October – another check in the works there. You really wanted to say …

I’m beginning to actually hope for one real soon so SOME people can move on to a different subject.

WSBKeymasterJust heard back from Colleen at Consolidated Restaurants – they have not yet finalized the lease but are confident the deal will be done soon – they are not taking the entire space (there’d been various rumors, you’ll recall, about the other side of it) though. But they say they are still coming. Still checking on other thing. Will mention WingDome on home page since I have another business update, just happened onto something else (not a restaurant) moving into The Triangle.

LeroniusmonkfishMemberIn-N-Out Burger??? That would be a first for WS and WA for that matter.
December 9, 2009 at 8:31 am #683677
WSBKeymasterSince they are family-owned I doubt they would move to WA without expanding to OR first. The closest In-N-Out last time I checked was in Redding, CA, a mere 660 or so miles south of here. Though we’re not much for fast-food chain burgers otherwise, they of course are the gold standard, and when we took a road trip to the Bay Area 2 1/2 years ago that was our first stop on the way there and our last stop on the way back.

greatfree1MemberI love Burgers so when I went to Arizona and saw an In-N-Out I was very excited, that soon turned to sadness as it was not very good.
I then was in Cali and my friend was telling how great In-N-Out was so I gave it another shot, again not impressed! Am I missing something?
I’d take Zippy’s, Dicks and Burgerville over them anytime, heck I even prefer JIB over In-N-Out. I just don’t understand.

dawsonctParticipantBURGERVILLE!!!
The huckleberry milkshakes are just about enough incentive all by themselves for a SW Wa./Or. roadtrip in Aug/Sept.
C’mon BVille, we’re not THAT far away!

Maybe Minor’s (Yakima/Union Gap) would spin off a franchise.
Or a Zip’s, another E.Wa. institution, though the name is unfortunately similar to our own WS burger institution.

WSBKeymasterBurgers are as subjective as pizza, I guess :)

villagegreenMemberOh man, Zips in E.WA!!! I’ve been to the one in Ritzville on the way to Lake Coeur d’Alene on several occasions. Actually, it’s become kind of a tradition to stop there just to see if things can get any worse than they already are. I’ve never eaten in such a hellhole in all my life. Lamps and light bulbs over tables broken, booths dirty, and the food horrendous.
Someone from our party ordered a grilled cheese sandwich once and they just took a hamburger bun, grilled the top and bottom sides, stuck one piece of sliced cheese between it (unmelted), and called it good. Genius!

celeste17ParticipantWhenever my youth group would go to Wenatchee for our annual summer trip we would always stop at Zeeksville and get a Zeke’s burger and fries. I wonder if they are still there. Anyone travel Hwy 2 and can tell me if they are still in business.

RAEMemberHay, how about a cupcake joint?!, with a BECU ATM
December 11, 2009 at 8:20 pm #683685
dawsonctParticipantWOW V.G., I haven’t been through Ritzville in 3-4 years, but it wasn’t anything like you described it last time I was through. In any case, I’ve never thought of ordering a grilled cheese in a burger place, so I don’t know what to expect.

The Ritzville Zip’s is part of the original chain, and is really only associated with the rest of the E.Wa. Zip’s by name and history.
