WMOParticipantI am planning a trip to Paris, the beaches at Normandy, and through the Loire Valley and wondering if it is easy to connect my I-Pad over there?
Or should I do the old fashioned internet cafe thing?
Anyone have any recent experiences?
Thank you.

KenParticipantMy experience in France pre dates wi-fi as well as the personal computer.. but this site seems to be up to date. Note McDonalds and other fast food chains have infested Europe since I was there as well.

JimmyGMemberWhen visiting the Normandy and Brittany region, my hotels in Bayeux and Saint Malo had wi-fi throughout.
And in Paris, wi-fi was complimentary at our hotel.
I took my laptop and had no issues.
In my experience internet cafes in Western Europe are becoming less prevalent than in years past.

OwnerMaryMemberI take, and use, my Ipad all of the time in Europe and have never had a problem. I have not been to the Normandy coast, but it has worked as far north as Copenhagen and as far south as Egypt (I know that’s Africa).
Be careful tho’ that you are using a secure site, as my cousin regularly uses any site available, and every trip she gets her email hacked. I have never had that problem, but I am very particular that I know whose site I am using.
Another word of caution — in November, I was in Sicily and left my Iphone4 in a cab. It was never returned – imagine that, as they sell for 650E. Make sure you have a passcode on your Apple mobile devices if they leave your home – and that you use the “wipe it clean” if someone tries to access it 10 times (I wish Apple would reduce the tries… ).
