On 35th between Morgan and Holly, at the apartment building on the east side of the street on the sidewalk is a dead kittycat that’s been there for several days. Who picks those up?

Several years ago, I recall scooping one up on my block and was told that cats are small enough to just go out with regular garbage pickup (I know, I’m sorry, it’s not terribly kind), so if someone lives around there, they could grab it.

well i usually pick it up and put in one of the big dumpsters in the apartment complex. NO would never put it in some one personal trash can. i wonder if this would be the same cat mentioned in another blog a few days ago.

Otherwise call seattle animal shelter and tell them where the body is at

If possible call seattle animal control or take it to a local vet clinic so it can be scanned for a microchip and reported. That way if someone is out looking for their loved companion they at least know what happened to them.

FWIW, I just had to do similar research about a dead raccoon in front of our house…King County Solid Waste specifies that dead animals under 25lbs can go into your regular garbage; if they are bigger than that, you’re supposed to take them to a vet clinic or shelter for disposal.

There is an online form which is super brief that can be used to report this.
