dustinParticipantThis will be my wife and I’s first Valentines Day as a married couple and I’d love to know what types of things are available in the West Seattle area. While were dating and engaged we were either in school or making no money so it was a lot of homemade picnics and scenic drives. Not that those aren’t great, but now that we’re both making real money it’d be nice to do something a little nicer.
Are there any dinner spots that have special Valentines Day menus or maybe spice up the atmosphere? Bay cruises maybe? Just curious since I know there must be a wealth of knowledge out there. Any and all tips/stories are welcome.

JanSParticipantDustin…I don’t know how much money is at your disposal, but check out local restaurants…Beato’s, La Rustica on Beach Drive…
http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-rustica-seattle (they don’t have a website, but have great Italian food)
Hope it’s a wonderful day for the two of you :)

dustinParticipantThese look great. Thanks Jan!
Does anyone know if Salty’s does anything special for Valentines Day? Not even sure that I could get a reservation at this point, but seems like a great place with a great view.

AnonymousInactiveSalty’s is a great place to go for Valtentines Day they do make you feel special and the food is yummy! Also, Daniel’s Broiler at 200 Lake Washington Blvd. Great view of the water and very romatic!! It is great, that is where my husband proposed to me 11+ years ago!!
Your Wife is lucky to have a husband like you who is already scouting places to make Valentines Day special!! :)

dustinParticipantThanks lattemom. I’ll have to look up Daniel’s Broiler. I’ve learned the hard way that waiting too long to make V-Day plans usually ends up in disaster (i.e. no matter how hard you try, sub sandwiches just aren’t that romantic).

AnonymousInactiveDustin: Enjoy Valentines Day!! Again, your Wife sure made a good catch landing you! :) When I first read your posting I almost cried it was so sweet!! Daniel’s Broiler has an amazing view of the water and again it is very romantic!

JanSParticipantdustin…if the Salty’s in WS is booked, try their location in Des Moines on Redondo Beach…it’s a smaller place…very intimate….not in WS, but still nice…

monaMemberMy husband and I went to Salty’s on Valentine’s Day a few years back. There was a fixed menu with several options for each course. It was pricey, but the phenemonal food and view made it well worth the cost.

CMPParticipantAre there any restaurants catering to single people who have no one celebrate this lame holiday with? I plan on finding the least romantic place in town to have a few beverages…any suggestions for that?!
And Dustin, I say there’s nothing better than a fantastic home-cooked meal in the comfort of your home. Unless you’re a bad cook :) Otherwise, Ama Ama would be nice with some oysters and I hear their bar is great…LOL!

JanSParticipantlol…CMP…Alki Tav? Admiral Pub? Poggie Tav? Corner Inn? I doubt that there’s a romantic anything happening there..hehe…
yes, us single people are outta luck on Valentine’s Day… are you saying you don’t get a lot of home cooked meals?

swimcatMemberI’d be happy with the bar food, a pitcher of beer and watching a game with my husband at the Rocksport on Valentine’s Day. I’m simple, but that’s one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy flowers, chocolate and fancy meals, but not on Valentine’s Day. It seems too forced to me. Hallmark holidays…

JenVMemberwe usually celebrate with a nice dinner at home. this after a few years of trying to find some place in WS to have dinner and finding everywhere packed to the rafters. one year we ended up at Ho-Win- and we were the only people there! that same year we ended up there for Cinco de Mayo as well… ;)

CMPParticipantJan, I might be hitting Hotwire to drop off a Valentine for any guy brave enough to sign up for that. Maybe I will get a home-cooked meal out of it in time for Valentine’s Day :)
