shed22ParticipantEvery time I open WSB there is a snippet of sound. Curious where it’s coming from. Anyone know?

MargLMemberIt’s the Ryan Gluckman video on this story.
Happens to me, too. Figured it was because I’m using Firefox on a Linux box but maybe it’s happening to others, too. Once the story is pushed off the first page by other stories it won’t be a problem :-D

SueParticipantI also use Firefox and was having this happen as well the past day or two. Drove me crazy. But I just installed the add-on for Flashblock that someone mentioned on another forum post, and now no problem.

pigeonmomParticipantFirefox here too and I’m hearing the snippet. :-/

WSBKeymastersorry, that whole story was jinxed … I still can’t see the video clip at all on Firefox or Safari (for Mac) and for two days after the nice young student sent me info about it, I parried with the Get Schooled people telling them there was a problem with their site (which I couldn’t reach at all) when they said there wasn’t (but they apparently use PCs). Finally we tested it on every computer in the house and it worked on Chrome. Since it apparently was also OK on PC, I went ahead and put it up. Not sure what the audio thing is about but I will report it to the Get Schooled people. As noted above, it should be off the home page shortly and won’t be an issue.

JustSarahParticipantI don’t hear anything — browsing w/ Google Chrome on a MacBook, FWIW. Chrome doesn’t play nice with some websites, but apparently I win on this count. :-)

sam-cParticipantyes- i was hearing this morning too. (on firefox) but it’s gone now.
I thought it was funny. I couldn’t figure out which story it was coming from.

sun*eParticipantThat sound was driving me nuts too and then redblack posted some information in another forum about a Firefox add-on called flashblock. Once I installed flashblock it took care of the problem and saved me from insanity. :-)

anonymeParticipantNot using Firefox, WAS getting the sound, now it’s gone.

redblackParticipantanonyme: but it will be back if you go to page 2 (it “scrolled down” off of the front page as new stories were added) unless the site that the offending video was linked to fixed their hiccup.

MargeCParticipantRedblack –
You are correct! – just went to page 2 and that sound connected to the faulty video is still there. I use Safari, not Firefox

MargeCParticipantRedblack – I just logged in again and that sound seems to be gone now – assume the hiccup has been fixed.
