    Seriously – what do you do with a bunch of old but clean cotton sox that have quarter size holes in the bottoms? There are only so many rags we can use and I don’t want to ship them all to SF…

    Any one do textile recycling?

    I chop them up and toss them in the compost bin. Cut out any elastic first, of course. They make compost the same as any other organic material. This time of year, they compost faster if you intermingle them with some grass clippings or pulled weeds.

    If you didn’t know, we are experiencing a cotton shortage in this country and abroad.
