Anybody out there looking to sell a used, but in good condition sea kayak? Needs to have a rudder and under 40, or so, pounds, please.

you might get yourself down to northwest outdoor center on lake union. they have a bulletin board up where people post kayaks for sale.

also, although i don’t know if kayaks are for sale, you might consider going down to Tacoma on May 16th or 17th for the Puget Sound Sea Kayak Symposium.

there are classes and tons of demos. this was really valuable to me in learning how to fit myself with a kayak and then getting to try out a bunch in the salt water so that i was comfortable with one i ended up getting.

Under 40 pounds? That would be a carbon fiber (kevlar) kayak or possible a wooden one.

Counting Coup is correct, unless you’re looking for a real short play boat.

My old Pygmy, at 16.5′, came in at 34 lbs, and a commercial model of similar weight would have been a really high end carbon fiber or kevlar boat (translated to several thousand $$).
