ShibaguyzMemberWe are working on two community gardening projects this season and are looking for all that “stuff” you have setting around in your shed/garage/basement but you aren’t using. Items may include but are not limited to:
Tools – rakes, hoes, shovels, etc.
Organic Compost – bagged or piled up in a corner
Containters – pots, buckets, nursery pots, anything we can plant starts or container garden in. Yes, those old 5-gallon buckets are PERFECT!
Wood – have wood laying around for trellises or raised beds? We’re growing our wood pile now.
Wire – chicken, rabbit or other types of wire for compost bins and our new compost fences.
Basically, if you think we might be able to use it and you are in the area of West Seattle, we’ll come out and take a look at it! Drop us a line at lazylocavores@me.com and we’ll arrange a time to come out to your place.
Thank you in advance for your time. We really appreciate any help you can give these projects. Oh… the two projects are the LongFellow Creek Community Garden and the Olympic View Community Garden. Thanks again!
talk to you soon…

guidosmomMemberWill you need any extra seeds/starters? I think we will probably have too many.

ShibaguyzMemberseeds and starters are always appreciated. With the response we’ve had, there are a lot of requests from folks who could use help. We’re looking forward to the supplies going to help those folks as well. Please email us at lazylocavores@me.com and we’ll arrange for pick up of any seeds or starters you might have. Thank you!!

JoBParticipanti should have some as well..
something tells me i am not going to need all 18 of the red cherry tomato starts (an early spring producer) currently taking space on my dining room table… and that’s just on of the many seeds i planted…
in addition to helping out with the garden.. maybe some of us can trade starts?

guidosmomMemberI think a seed/starter exchange would be an excellent idea! I’ll set aside some for Shibaguyz too (and will email). This is our first year being in a place with a large yard for gardening. We are trying “square foot gardening”. I think we’ll have plenty of extra various types of beans (cranberry, green), tomato starts (cherry and yellow pear), squash, beets, various greens, and more. We haven’t been able to start planting yet due to the awful weather, but hope and plan to this weekend. After seeing how many seeds we have, I was starting to get worried about what to do with all the extras.

ShibaguyzMemberHey there all!! Any and all supplies, seeds, starts, pots, buckets, wood, trellises, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated. Currently, the garden managers are all amassing our stashes and putting them all together this next week to see what we have for our current projects and how many more we’ll need to purchase or find.
We will be out and about today with a truck so pick up of various items will be easier. Don’t hesitate to give us a call on our cell at 206-579-0599 and we’ll swing by!
Thank you again for all of your generosity. We will be sure to post an article here to WSB as well as on our blog to update you all on the projects and how your donations helped.
talk to you soon…
