I think we have the fli(y)ers, ‘er, posters ready and volunteers to talk with Admiral Pub and BPP. Anywhere else we should go? People are clicking on the donate button — life is good.

Thanks for the “inspired by” line, Gina — but Jan’s wonderful daughter started all this and the momentum/energy of the WSB Neighbors made it happen. I just said, “What next?” Because that’s my line in this world :-)

If anyone wants color printed posters or anything else, let us know — VelvetBulldog has done her usual creative job and we’re ready to roll. And I have color printing ability and wheels to deliver :-)

charlabob- sign me up….or I can just meet you at the BPP tomorrow to help take care of the donation jar…and have a brew.

Mad props to missaudreyhorne, beachdrivegirl & velvetbulldog for making it happen. as always, I am floored and humbled to be a part of such an awesome community. :) cheers all!

Oh, damn — you mean we’d have to go to BPP, sip wine, pet Tuxedo, talk to you, play games ??? Instead of mulching the garden and decluttering the attic? Well, OK — anything for the cause.

    Do you have a jar?

We’re going to stop by Gina’s sale this morning (hopefully after all the cupcakes and pie are gone).

I’m floored and humbled too — also, where are you guys when I try to get work projects done? People don’t just step up and do things. In fact, they hide under their desks when they hear me coming. If only!

JoB, I’m so sorry your migraine is acting up on top of everything else. I empathize hugely, I have two friends with CFS and all its accompanying misery, so I’ve kind of lived this vicariously for years. Feel better!

    charla..

i am glad you are able to take the lead on this one…

i can’t think of anyone who needs our help more at this point and who is more deserving…

to use theHouse’s criteria.. someone who does everything she can to help herself.

to use mine.. someone who cares enough to help others less fortunate than herself.. even when it isn’t easy or fun. Jan has been in incredible pain .. and yet has not let that stop her from lending support to others.

i am sorry the only thing i can do right now is click a button and send money…

I am glad you are there to take this on.. that is the true measure of a community…

I don’t have a jar….unless I finish up that Costco jug of pickles in the next hour or so. that’s a pretty daunting challenge and unlikely to happen…I wonder if a local bar/restaurant would have an empty pickle/pepperocini jar they could spare?

    what time tomorrow?

Jen I have a jar – we can’t make it tomorrow due to Mother’s Day shenanigans with the family, but I would happily give you a jar from my protein powder. It’s a big, white, plastic jar. Would that work?

Jen I need to make a run to the store at some point today to get supplies for mother’s day brownies. Was also thinking about swinging by to say hi to Jan and Gina this afternoon after I pick up Luis. Probably around 1. I’m home for awhile – as long as you’re not cat-allergic you are welcome to come by. Otherwise let’s make arrangements to meet up this afternoon if you are available. You have my # right? If not email me yours and I’ll call you.

OH MY GOD you guys, thank you so much! I cannot believe the power that this site has, and how great of a community we have. As I said, next week I’m going to try and contact everyone who talked about food and make a schedule of sorts. As for now, thank you for going full force on these donation jars and everything. I’m happy that my mom can focus on getting well and I can focus on helping take care of her without feeling burdened by a lack of money.

Jan, Jen, and the cb’s are going to be at Beveridge Park Pub at 2 tomorrow.

Aim, if we haven’t collected the jar, we can drop by late this afternoon. We’re violently allergic to cats, but we have 3 ourselves so that’s not a very good excuse :-)

I just stopped by Gina’s (to leave a white elephant that might be an entry in the weirdest item derby). The “sale”/donation jar was going great — lots of good stuff left to buy — and lots of parking.

“I will absolutely talk to Eric at Admiral about a jar there. Charla, just email me when you find out from Jan if that would be okay! “

NewRes: Jan approves. She’s embarassed, but she approves :-) Have you gotten a copy of the pdf file for the poster? It’s really magnificent! If you don’t have a color printer, we can print some for you and drop them off at the Admiral Pub or even meet you there for a beer (twist my arm). If you need a jar, let me know. All things can be provided.

Aim, send your number, please. Thanks!

MissAudrey: Please put me down for an “errand run.” It occurs to me that while lots ‘o folks will be delivering food, there might be a need for a store run for things like toiletries/cleaning supplies, and maybe to drop off or pick up drycleaning, etc. Jan has my direct email address, so you can reach me there.

NR, why don’t we figure out sometime tomorrow late afternoon/evening. JanS is right — we’re going to BPP around 2 (and we’re cooking mothers’ day dinner for mom/mil before that.) Or you can join us at the new BPP (have you seen it yet?) and we can crawl to the admiral pub. Literally. This has potential :-) hic…

Hey, NR — check your email; proposed bar crawl schedule, plus our cell in this morning’s message.

Aim was having trouble getting mail to me yesterday, so wanted to let you know.

Everyone else, there will be donation jars at BPP and Admiral Park pub — if you know another good venue (or want to put up posters) let us know.
