They better not kill my trees. Needless to say these guys were trying to hold off on coming to my house, I have made myself quite vocal about the care of my trees. Yes I know this is what they have to do. I have seen such destruction of the trees in the area.

Who are ‘they’? Public Utilities? Is this a powerline issue or someone you hired?

Hammerhead, would you mind editing your post so that it makes sense? It doesn’t make sense as written, and in order for anyone to help (or sympathize) we need to know what the issue is.

talking about the public utility guys and topping trees for the powerlines. I know they have to do it. but there are ways so it is not so destructive to the trees. sorry for not being more clear. they actually did a pretty good job. i guess me making myself heard worked.

Tree topping is the practice of removing large branches and/or trunks from the top of a tree’s canopy. Topping is often harmful for the tree. Large pruning wounds often fail to heal and become entry points for disease and pests, undermining the long term health of the tree. Aesthetic appeal is compromised as the natural shape of the tree is lost. Trunks grow at the topping location and as these weakly attached trunks increase in size, they often fall during windstorms.
