Heading north on Fauntleroy Way this morning at 6:40am, just moments before the ferry unloads. Two other local cars are behind me, all of us driving at the speed limit. Midway along Lincoln Park a vashon motorbike passes me by in the oncoming traffic lane, then three others. They all had to be going 60 mph. These bikes should be cited for noise, as well as speed, but I’d settle at this point for speed citations.

It’s a chronic issue in the early morning for sure. Even more so in summer months. Quite a “thrill” to watch them blasting by the north side of Thriftway if they’ve hit a green light crossing California. It could be a great revenue stream for the SPD, but they obviously don’t care….

I’ve commented on this same issues here before. The Vashon bike crew is so dangerous and they don’t seem to care at all who’s around when they speed and cut people off. One day i witnessed an older gentleman (after being cutoff by a speeding vashon biker) exit his car on Fauntleroy at a red light, walk up to the biker, slap his helmet and yell “stop being stupid!!”. Best. Reaction. Ever.

How about a broom handle stuck out the driver’s side window? A powerful squirt gun? A fake pit bull head with an ear-splitting bark recording?

Barry, in ‘every day is backwards day Seattle’, I’m surprised that the older gentleman wasn’t arrested for assault and/or violating the biker’s right to speed.
