My 2 year old high end Sony TV is doing something strange. For a 1/2 hour or so the picture becomes pixelated (wild patterns all over the screen). This only happens on certain channels and the problem disappears by going to another channel and returning. Looking for advice and a reliable repair source. Thanks in advance.

p.s., I have DirecTV but the problem does not appear on a set in another room.

Ramino – I have had the exact same problem and reported it to DirecTv several times. They came out last week and replaced my dish…but then this week it was back even worse. Primarily the local chanels. I also have a very high end Sony. Report it to them, so that they know there are others. My high end Samsung in another room also has no problem.

Seeking Euros. Thanks for resonding. Yes, local channels. We get European TV programs and have no problem with them. Since your swapping out the dish didn’t solve the problem, and we both are having trouble with high-end Sony TVs, I’ll contact Sony and see if they have an answer. My Sony is Model KDL-32S5100. Do you also have this model?

DirectTv checked in with me on Thursday and when I told them that the problem persists, they scheduled another site visit for this week. Please call DirectTv as it is their problem to fix – Sony said they can not help.

I did call them and they don’t accept responsibility (i.e., blame Sony, etc.). Please let me know if you have a good result. And thanks for the info.

Ramino — DirectTv replaced my HDDVR today as well as checked/tested all of the wireing to the TV that has the pixelization, and replaced the splitters. This is when I am so grateful for the maintenance plan, as I dont have to pay for any of this service (now the 2nd time they have been out to fix). The guy was here for 2 hrs. So far no pixelization.
