CountingCoupMember* Little Wing ~ Jimi Hendrix :
I have heard several live performers play this while I was on vacation in other states (Hawaii – Calif – to Montana) with dedication to Jimi and it reminds me of home (Seattle).
* Crazy on You ~ Heart :
Never heard anyone attempt Anne’s vocals anywhere but I have heard in on the radio throughout the Southwest US and it feels like Seattle.
* Feels Like Teen Spirit ~ Nirvana :
Not only does it feel like Seattle and remind me of all of those hot small sweaty Seattle performance stages, it even reminds me of loud crazy Sonic games. Whenever I have heard this outside of the Pacific Northwest, I can’t help but feel Seattle even in a place as distant as Costa Rica.

Just because all three were the songs that stuck with me when I came here as a tourist between ’88 and ’90, falling in love with the Northwest — no wonder they are all terribly romantic songs — and becoming resolved to move here (which we did in April 1991).

flowerpetalMember“Here Comes the Rain Again” Annie Lennox, for obvious reasons.
“Heartbreak Hotel” Tiny Tim. Yes, the Tiny Tim. I saw him perform at the Backstage in Ballard, and again at Seattle Center’s Memorial Stadium.

jMemberAny Sir-Mix-Alot song, but specifically “My Posse’s on Broadway”.

andreaParticipantwhat j said! more than any other song, “My Posse’s on Broadway” totally spells out Seattle and all of its coolness. Also, anything my Alice in Chains, Heart (love, love, love Heart, Seattle’s original rock band!), and the Presidents of the United States.
