5:37 PM: No visual yet (aside from X clips like this) nor full ID, but for those who thought the World Cup flyover jets might have been the Blue Angels – same type of jets, F/A-18 Super Hornets. We saw them over West Seattle twice, after they took off from Boeing Field, and when they headed back for the actual flyover just before 5 pm.

I wonder if the flyover is from aircraft that are assigned to USS Ronald Reagan. She’s scheduled to finish refit sometime in the next month or two and the slight little red colour scheme on the one aligns with one of the usual squadrons.
The flyover was a combo of VFA-94 and VFA-146, both part of CVW-17 that’s shifting to the Reagan when it exits mx. The red one was one of the VFA-94 jets painted with special America 250 colors.
They buzzed over Arbor Heights quite low like the small planes do from Boeing field. But oh so much louder!
