WSBKeymasterWe actually suggested this many months ago, when we thought our technical upgrade was close to launching – save your avatar because you’ll probably have to re-load it.
Well, the time has finally come. Unless some incredible unforeseen glitch gets in the way of our technical team, they are going to switch the site over this weekend.
Avatars may or may not go along for the ride. So please save yours if you like it.
Please also note that the forum will be unavailable from approximately 6 pm Friday until whenever the site is ready to go live during the weekend (no ETA on that until they get into the move of our relatively massive databases).
WSB is NOT shutting down during the switch – we will be redirecting for the duration to a simple temporary site so that we can continue our mission to cover the news, uninterrupted. Setting up a temporary forum was pretty much impossible, though, sorry about that. Weekends haven’t been too chatty lately anyway (though we hope the end of the longterm forum glitches will help remedy that).
Thanks in advance for your patience; more updates as we go, and once the overhaul is live, watch for a note explaining some of the basic changes/additions/etc. sitewide.

miwsParticipantThanks, WSB!
It’ll probably take a little time to get used to something new, but figure it will be great once we get used to it!

WSBKeymasterJust a reminder – save your avatar if you haven’t already. We’re on track to start this around 6 pm tonight. Even if you see the old site after that, please don’t post anything – a full backup of the databases will be starting then, and then the moving. We will publish news and pets at
http://westseattleblog.wordpress.com
And please bookmark our social media spots, where we also will link news and pets, and will post any other messages we have to get out about the changeover.
