RAVE: WS BLOG-From Binge to Blackout

Thanks so much for continuously posting what is happening around West Seattle.

Because of you I went to Madison Middle School today and listened to Chris and Toren Valkmann talk about their stuggles with teen drinking and their book “From Binge to Blackout.”

Since I work as a substance abuse counselor I found it very interesting.

The speakers were so nice and open to talk after the presentation. I bought their book and had them sign it!

Siva, I had hoped to send a reporter to cover it but wasn’t able to … at least glad I was able to interview Chris and write the preview story.

I haven’t read anything from them, but I highly advocate more education towards the prevention of teenage alcohol abuse. Glad to hear about this event.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a huge turnout. I think that there were about 50 people there? Definately, could have been more.

Oh well, what can you do?
