RANT: Security company leaving door hangers in middle of day

I came home from work yesterday to see that someone had left a door hanger on my front door. These annoy me anyway, because they pretty much advertise to the world that nobody’s home. When I looked at it, it was from a SECURITY SYSTEM COMPANY. Seriously, why on EARTH would I buy their products if they care so little about my home’s security that they’d leave an advertisement that essentially says “come rob me!”

I’m not putting their name in this, as I’ve not yet called them to complain. Why? Because the phone number on the ad is a PORTLAND number. Seriously??? A local number is FREE with Google Voice for crying out loud. I’m not calling long distance to tell them they’re a bunch of schmucks. Besides, the company itself doesn’t really matter. It’s the door-hanger-leaving practice that really has my panties in a bunch.
