More warm weather, more door to doors these days. In the past month, I have had no fewer than 5 unwanted door to door people come up to my house and want to sell me something I would never by anyway, tell me how GOD-TACULAR! the good lord Jesus Christ is, get me to sign their petition to nuke the gay whales or whatever.

I have a store bought NO SOLICITORS sign on the front door. It might as well be printed in camouflage.

I do not want to sign your X

I do not want your magazine.

I do not need to find Jeebus.

With the current state of break-ins and general street thuggery run amok these days, I tire of the *WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP* at the door.

If you do not answer it, could be a green light for the thieves.

If you do answer it, anything could happen from a little old lady handing me a prayer card to a gang-banger casing my place trying to sell some fake junk they bought to show me just in case I was home and actually answered the door.

I am considering putting up an addendum to my NO SOLICITORS sign that reads:

IF I DO NOT KNOW YOU AND YOU KNOCK ON MY DOOR I WILL CALL THE COPS!

I do not want to be mean, but when you say no, they either get huffy and make you think bad thoughts or pretend to not hear you and ramble on and on. I don’t wanna just close the door in their face, but that is what happens most often and it usually creates bad vibes…

And please do not tell me to check their badges. I do not know what a Fraternal Uniformed Ceramic Kiln Mitigation Expert badge looks like….and I do not care.

I just do not want to be bothered in the 3 hours or less per weekday I have when I am home with my family.

after reading on the blog about the woman who was burglarized after a door to door person cased her home, i will not open for anyone. i have a no solicitors sign, as well. people ignore it, ring the doorbell and if we don’t answer, actually open the screen door and knock on the inside door! are you serious? the days of door to door sales people have come to an end in my book. again, we can thank those that are not legit for ruining it for the good ones. sad.

Put a “Wet Paint” sign on your porch. It worked for my grandpa!

I knew I saw this before……One of my favorite posts:

    NO SOLICITING

This means that unless you are invited do not knock on nor ring our doorbell

No Selling, No Announcing, No Door hangers, No Introducing Yourself, No Marketing, No Surveys, No Anything UNLESS YOU WERE INVITED

This property is under 24 hour a day video surveillance and the second that you entered our yard your image was being recorded off site.

I’m just glad I don’t get that here. That’s one thing that I hate is being bugged at home, where I’m more than usual trying to relax after a hard day’s work. My dogs bark all the time when the cars drive through our alley and that alone is enough to make me feel stressed out. I can only imagine someone knocking on the door. Ugh.
