ShaneMemberNot liking being charged for delivery for my pizza from most places, when very little is given back to the drivers for gas. Tax, delivery fee and tip to the driver increases the cost of a pizza by 25-30 percent. Are there still pizza places in the Junction neighborhood that do not charge for delivery?

WSBKeymasterOne of the places from which we order from time to time is Amante Pizza and Pasta. I don’t believe they have a delivery fee – their website says “free delivery” – I don’t have a receipt handy to check. Though Pagliacci to this day still won’t deliver further south than a few blocks north of our house, Amante, which is a mile or so north of Pagliacci, does dare to venture this far. And like Zeeks, they have online ordering.

metrognomeParticipantI’ve ordered from Amante several times; they don’t have a delivery charge. You can sign up for e-mail specials, but it didn’t seem to work for me. They also advertise being open 11a to 11p every day, but there was one holiday (New Year’s Eve, I think) when they were closed.
I’ve switched to Zeeks as I am only about 2 blocks from their location and the pizza is usually delivered so quickly that it seems fresh from the oven. They do charge $1.50 for deliveries; seems kinda silly to charge that little rather than to just get rid of it.

austinMemberI think pagliacci has free delivery too? Though I’m not sure. I ordered once from zeeks, got one of their smaller pizza specials, nothing extra, and it was ~$40 after tax/fee/convenience charge/tip/whatever. Never again. Amante charges a buck to order online, might as well call in and have it to give to the driver.

JanSParticipantLuciano’s in the Admiral District doesn’t charge for delivery, either. Decent pizza…good service. They also have coupons for online ordering…you mention them in the comment section on the order page, usually 2 bucks off a medium, 3 bucks off a large pizza. And you don’t need a paper coupon.
