CroweMemberIs there a Pea Patch in WS? I love to garden, but now live in an apt. Must get hands in earth!
If there isn’t, would anyone like to discuss starting one?
Thanks

JillParticipantHi Crowe, Yes, not being able to garden is a dire situation indeed! :) According to the Dept. of Neighborhoods site, there’s one at Lincoln Park. Interesting! I normally stick to the perimeter down on the beach, so I don’t recall ever seeing it! I bet the site would have info on how to start a new one, too, here it is (if my link works correctly):

CroweMemberJill, thanks for the info! I had NO idea there was one so close. I put myself on the waiting list. :0)
I probably walked by it 100 times.
thanks again, Cheers.

WSMomParticipantThere’s a patch of seemingly unused land at the south end of West Seattle HS (next to the Episcopal church) that I think would be a wonderful spot for a pea-patch. It’s already fenced and gets lots of sunshine. I wonder how one goes about siteing a new pea patch? It could be a great opportunity for the high school students to learn hands-on organic gardening etc.

CroweMemberWSMom,
The folks that are the P-Patch people, can help.
Apparently they can look into different “groups” ie. church, owner of property if it’s on their property, or maybe even the school. Any way, we would first contact the P-Patch people and see about he lot. There is no such thing as too many gardens, in my opinion.
