Hi Crowe, Yes, not being able to garden is a dire situation indeed! :) According to the Dept. of Neighborhoods site, there’s one at Lincoln Park. Interesting! I normally stick to the perimeter down on the beach, so I don’t recall ever seeing it! I bet the site would have info on how to start a new one, too, here it is (if my link works correctly):
There’s a patch of seemingly unused land at the south end of West Seattle HS (next to the Episcopal church) that I think would be a wonderful spot for a pea-patch. It’s already fenced and gets lots of sunshine. I wonder how one goes about siteing a new pea patch? It could be a great opportunity for the high school students to learn hands-on organic gardening etc.
Apparently they can look into different “groups” ie. church, owner of property if it’s on their property, or maybe even the school. Any way, we would first contact the P-Patch people and see about he lot. There is no such thing as too many gardens, in my opinion.
