I love Brandi Carlile as a performer and as a person. I was lucky enough to discover her music early and see her in small venues, secret shows ect. Last Sept I attended a charity event to raise money for her Looking Out foundation and am honored to be one of the women invited to participate this Sunday in the self defense class. She is an amazing talent that truely has a heart for the community she grew up in. Her new albulm is rockin and soul moving all at the same time. So happy to see all the success she has earned in the last 5 years. And she is just a really damn cool person to boot! Her whole band is so down to earth. I once had a question about the meaning of some lyrics and one of the twins personally emailed me to explain them. What band with their music in GM commercials and major TV shows touring the world still takes the time to do something so personal for someone who at that time they have never even met?

Nice article – I love Brandi Carlile’s music. Saw her at the Zoo but not when she opened for the Indigo Girls. I think Mat Kearny opened for her! It’s nice to see her supporting something important in the community, especially being as busy as she is.

Very cool, I remember at the beginning of her career she played at least weekly on Queen Anne Hills Paragon…

I remember thinking this young woman has some pipes, and she strums some good guitar to boot! Glad her talent was noticed and now its another local gone national…
