NewtotheareaMemberI am new to West Seattle and have a new puppy. I looking for vet recommendations as well as puppy training. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

jwwsParticipantLien Animal Clinic or West Seattle Animal Hospital are tops for us (WSAH has Sunday hours) for vets and a frequent poster in these forums, Service Dog Academy is a good trainer. best of luck with the new pup!

hammerheadParticipantSouth Seattle Vet 242-8338. 1st office visit free. While the office is not “pretty” they are building a new right next door. Very reasonable prices. Also open 24 hrs.
Puppy Perfectors they are in Georgetown. I have taken all my rescues and my own dogs there for training.

celeste17ParticipantI have used both Lien and South Seattle and fell comfortable recommending both of them.

funkietooParticipantLien Animal Clinic or Greentree Animal Hospital.

MTSRParticipantWe have been using Lien since 1999. I can’t say enough about the care our dogs have gotten there. We tried several clinics before Lien and had experiences ranging from indifference to charges for unnecessary tests. None of these things has happened at Lien. Dr. Krabbel has treated us and our dogs with honesty and a level of warmth and understanding not often found these days. Not to mention HE IS A GREAT VET!!!

elikapekaParticipantAnother vote for Lien. Top notch care and staff.

pigeonmomParticipantDr. Glenn Johnson at West Seattle Animal Hospital is great. He took wonderful care of my Chico dog
for his 14+ years.
I also recommend Lien, their staff is caring, compassionate and kind.

KimberleyParticipantWe use Dr. Shaffer at Admiral Veterinary Hospital (just a few blocks from Admiral/California) (206) 937-4940 for our cats and dog. We also used Puppy Manners in Woodinville for puppy classes.

susan321cParticipantDr. Bergstrom at West Seattle Animal Hospital is just magic with dogs. Highly recommended.

service dog academyMemberWe use Lien as well.
Im kinda biased in that I prefer Service Dog Academy. Lots of positive google reviews, multiple national awards and more educated than 99% of the “dog trainers” in the area. This year I will be a featured speaker at the APDT conference, 6000+ member dog trainer organization.
Dont wait until your dog is “fully” vaccinated to get them into puppy classes. If you do, you are missing a big critical puppy developmental window!

WS PersonParticipantSecond for Dr. Shaffer at Admiral Veterinary Hospital, we’ve used him for all our cats and dog. Everything there is kind and compassionate.

PDHParticipantWe have used Dr. Shaffer for nearly 20 years. He came to our home to ease our beloved first “born’s” transition as he was suffering so…still breaks our hearts :-(. He still talks of him when we bring our crazy “Corgi” of four years to him. :-)
We appreciate his forth-right views and thoughts regarding care. He is no-nonsense, a hockey lover, and an amazing lover of animals!
