mertleParticipantPNTA is in search of a full-time Retail Store Manager. The right candidate for this role is a highly organized and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for the arts and live production. We are looking for an individual with broad experience in retail management as well as a demonstrated ability to think strategically and lead teams effectively in fast-paced, dynamic work environments. The ideal candidate will have prior experience supervising and motivating staff, as well as experience managing customer interactions.
The Store Manager is in charge of our brick and mortar retail business (where all customers first arrive) and all day-to-day operations of the retail store.
Duties include supervising and acting on:
- Sales and product/service recommendations
- Fostering excellent customer relationships
- Ensuring the sales floor is staffed with an excellent sales team
- Training of sales team, and securing educational resources for ongoing growth
- Delegating customer inquiries and other projects to team members, providing necessary support to ensure successful outcome for team and customers
- Making sure the sales floor is properly merchandised; collecting and analyzing sales data
- Establishing, negotiating, and maintaining relationships with product and service vendors as needed
- Proactively identifying business improvement opportunities, developing action plans, and working with company management to implement solutions
- Inventory control, administrative, and banking responsibilities
- Maintaining operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
- Serving as a hub of communication between team members, connecting with resources throughout the company and beyond as needed
- Maintaining regular communication and coordination with supervising VP and other senior management
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Job Requirements and Skills:
- Proven ability to work independently, strategically prioritize workload, stay organized, and develop strategies to meet sales deadlines and goals
- Ability to communicate in a highly effective manner with exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build customer loyalty and expand customer base by creating strong relationships and positive customer experiences whether in person, over phone, or email/web interaction
- Ability to successfully lead teams in a retail environment, keep store employees positive, motivated, accountable and on task
- Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving, using organizational and analytic skills to identify underlying business trends and optimize business performance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, remaining composed when dealing with customer concerns or employee conflict
- Flexibility to work retail schedule, including mornings, early evenings, and some Saturdays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs

Education and Experience:
- BA or BS degree or equivalent business experience
- Innovative with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Minimum 2 years in retail environment with at least 1-year supervisory experience
