    Fauntleroy Children’s Center is growing its teaching team.

    We are looking for people who enjoy working with children! If you are energetic, enthusiastic, and compassionate, we would like to talk to you. We seek a lead teacher for a full-time position in our preschool classroom from 10-6pm Monday through Friday. We are a diverse group of teachers who look forward to working with people who are motivated to grow and learn together.

    Professional Recognition
    Our non-profit program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and part of WA State Early Achievers. We use Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD® for lesson planning and assessment of the children.

    Focus on Relationships
    For more than 30 years we have been guided by a mission of authentic caring, diversity, choice, and responsibility. Our focus is on building healthy relationships and social values between children, teachers, parents, the environment, and local community in fun ways. Children enjoy learning responsibility for their choices and actions through decisions about activity options, teamwork, and involvement in room rules, boundaries and privileges.

    Learning through Play
    We take play seriously. Our philosophy is to create customized strategies to spark and develop each child’s imagination. We follow the curiosity and interests of the children to develop an appropriate play-based curriculum for extended learning and enrichment to succeed in school and beyond.

    Location
    We are located in a beautiful West Seattle neighborhood with bright, spacious classroom environments, huge nature based outdoor playground areas and nearby access to the Fauntleroy Ferry, beach and Lincoln Park.

    Preferred qualifications: AA or BA in ECE, minimum CDA or working on state ECE certificate; proficiency in English communication and basic computer skills; commitment to on-going professional development.
