This was in a location that had been shady since noon. Taken at 5pm as you can see.

    GOOD GOD it’s hot.

A trick: put a bowl of ice cubes in front of a fan. Instant AC.

Ok, I love visiting vegas during the summer months to experience the extreme heat (usually a rarity)… but here in SEATTLE???? no thank you. At least in normally hot weather areas, EVERYONE has air conditioning.

Just no help from the heat, except a bathtub full of ice cubes.

Even going to the movies today, better than outside, but still not cool.

Waaaaa! I can’t STAND IT!! :@ I can’t afford to go anywhere air conditioned and I have dogs to look after.

    We are all miserable.

I’m not totally convinced this isn’t hell.

We hit 105 at our house too.

I’m storing wet washcloths in the freezer and switching them out to put on the back of my neck–a few moments of bliss with each one before it thaws out and warms up.

Oh crap, our ice maker can’t keep up with demand. We will not have enough for tomorrow.

I’m just living in the basement. It’s actually a really nice 75 degrees, I’d say. Little smelly, but I’ll take the trade-off. Upstairs, I just start sweating.

My car (which wouldn’t lie to me… don’t even suggest it) registered 109 down at Southcenter.

It’s cooling down here (79 on the deck in upper alki), and I have opened the windows, and turned on the box fan. Earlier today driving up 35th and over Charlestown, the car said it was 107. Yes, extreme, but not too far off. At 6:30 it had dropped to 103 at the Admiral Safeway, and down to 99 by Schmitz Park. Another night in the new master basement…

Tonight is the first time I’ve ever been the only one at Westcrest Dog Park.

I love hot weather because my skin feels better, but this is absurd. The heat sucks the energy right out of you. No winds makes it worse. You need to almost make a plan before you move anywhere so you don’t tire yourself quickly.

AMEN Datamuse! It was like Michigan yesterday…. except we were missing the pools and EVERYONE having AC! I remember getting yelled at by Grandma to “Shut the Damn Door! You’re gonna let the Heat in!” Aaaaahhh, memories.

From a former Michigander here. I appreciate the fact that we don’t have the intense humidity and mosquitoes here. We didn’t have AC when I was growing up but I DID spend ALL summer at the community pool!
