I get the solidarity they are shooting for, but personally I feel like there message is less relevant than when they started, even the most anti war experts are in agreement, sadly for all involved, we can’t just walk away now.

Also they seem to be getting pushier and weirder about it. I was accosted for not protesting as well as a representative of the “youth that would shoulder the debt” despite being in my thirties.

Are they still getting a cohesive message across, or is the choir preaching just getting old and weird now?

I don’t know how other’s feel, but…I think during this campaign for a Dem nominee, we have all become a little more educated about what it will take to end this so-called war. Their message may have less clout now, but I suppose we have to defend their right to do it. I do not condone accosting anyone to “join” them…we all have a different way of going about things. You may feel exactly as they do, but this country is about choices, and your choice is to not “protest”. Now, if you were getting in their face, that’s not cool either – it’s just gonna rile them up. If you were simply engaging them in conversation, I would hope that they would be able to get into an intelligent conversation, without resorting to name calling and yelling… that does nothing to get their point across.

let them do what they want…that seems to work for them, as long as they’re peaceful, in my book.

I have also walked through the junction when the protesters were out and noticed their pushiness if you don’t protest with them.

At this point…get off the corner and get into the voting both. It is a complete waste of time to protest this issue (although their right to do so) now. It’s just self serving or something like that. If it’s to the point that you have to impact the rights of others to get your protest point across, you/they have lost moral authority.

I’m sure they think they’re making a difference, raising everyone’s consciousness on the topic, having an impact, etc.

But really, isn’t there probably a better way to use their time and obvious passion to address the war policy?

I don’t even pay them any attention anymore, they’re like white noise on my w-end walk through the Junction.

I’ve raised this issue before and spoke to a few merchants around the Junction. I think you’d be surprised how many of the merchants do not like these protesters.

My main issue with these protesters is that I enjoy eating breakfast, strolling the Junction and visiting the Farmers Market Sunday mornings. I do not go down there to debate politics or debate the war. I completely disagree with these people, but 99% of the time simply walk by them without making a comment. 1% of the time, I open my mouth and challenge their statements and find it hilarious how uneducated and brainwashed they really are (most of them are elderly that are simply pissed about their drug prices).

These people have every right to do what they are doing as long as they continue to move. I completely respect your right to protest, disagree and dissent. It’s what makes us such a great country, but can’t you find a more productive place to spew your opinions?

PS, just because you brought this up I’m going to have a few verbal judo sessions with the ol’ folks this weekend!
