I was just interviewed by Debra Feldman from King 5 news. It was about my feral cat trapping. It is supposed to run sometime on Wednesday 8, 2009. It will be ran in the am. Kong ch 6 and Northwest ch 2 I guess will also pick up the story. This all will change if something breaking happens.

It’s wonderful that you’re helping feral cats! My mom used to get have-a-heart traps, get them fixed, and send them back to their families.

for the translators, do you need documents translated or people to actually go with you?

I hadn’t seen this thread before seeing the piece on this news this morning, but I knew it was you when I saw it – nice to put a face to a name. And to be recognized for the good work you do.

They just teased the story for their noon news too – which means it should re-run at 1:00 on KONG. Good for you, Pamela!

Hammerhead, I agree with rs261 (#7). You should make up flyers with your mission in different languages that you can hand out to people in those neighborhoods.

They just aired it, just past the bottom of the hour.

    Great job, Pamela!

Great story — how can we make donations? (OK, I know but .. for those who don’t.)

We’ve actually adopted one of Pamela’s rescues — the “not nearly as wary as he used to be” Noam Katsky. Don’t know if she’s still doing that too, but I do want to say formerly feral cats make great pets. They may remain a bit suspicious of people, other cats, dust bunnies — but that just makes them more catlike. Noam is the best (his not formerly feral siblings, Spot and Roada, agree–most of the time.)

As for flyers they are illegal to put in mailboxes and expensive. My preference would be if I go to a site and I need an interperter, I can call someone and in 24 hrs have them go with me and they can speak for me. I also deal with cultural difference. That makes it very difficult too,so someone who understands buddism. I don’t want a debate on that, it is just I don’t believe in any animal suffering. I have recently run across this. Please no debate on that.

No, I didn’t mean for you to distribute your flyers door-to-door. I thought you could keep them on hand and then give them out to curious passersby who question what you are doing with the cats.
