It depends on if you want to pay for someone who is licensed, insured, and has references installing garage door openers in a bare garage or if you want to pay a college student with a few hours to replace a broken garage door opener with a similar-ish replacement that you’ve already bought.
I’ve replaced a few craftsman/sears openers over the years and it mostly came down to some basic tools, following an installation manual, and time on a ladder… it’s certainly a job I’d do some weekend for some extra spending cash.
I would also not have insurance or be bonded or have the ability to transport an 8 ft ladder to your home, so it’s entirely possible to be beyond a “weekend spending money” job.
