    Hello West Seattle People!

My wife, daughter and I are looking for a single-family, 3br home in the Genessee area, and online searches just aren’t working! We live 30 minutes (traffic permitting) north in Lynnwood, and now that I work in Kent, we have decided it’s time to move to W. Seattle. We love the area and the people, and want to get our daughter into your wonderful schools. We are sick of having to drive so far to go to the farmers market! Anyone who wants a responsible, respectful family in their upcoming rental, please respond!

Thank you so much for reading!

If you have trouble finding something in WS you might consider Burien. Lots of lovely residential areas and an active old town area west of 1st Ave south. Also, PCC and Trader Joes and lots of great restaurants.

Has anyone seen any ‘For Rent’ signs in the Genesee area? I’ll be heading over on lunch breaks to search, so any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I haven’t seen any signs, and don’t know if a homeowner would necessarily put a sign out trying to rent their home. But it does bring up a thought. Start calling the rental companies. They may have a home for rent and would also know if it was possible that that house could turn into a purchase.

Thanks for the idea! Anything helps. Seems like there’s just a big blank spot in W. Seattle when I search for rental listings.

Hi Austen! I feel your pain. I’ve been looking for a West Seattle home also, that is at minimum 2BA/2BA, and it has been a challenge. I’ve expanded my search to North Admiral, Alki, Genesee, Fairmount Park, and North Delridge, but still no luck. Based on conversations with realtors it seems both the sale and rental markets are slow right now. I wonder if short term rentals for summer and the World Cup has anything to do with it.
