ErikParticipantNewRes – And I remember you introducing him to me, my bad!
June 16, 2008 at 7:15 pm #626404
AnonymousInactiveThanks, maybe we could all meet at a more quiet place? Sounds like BPP was loud. But then again, half of the fun is having a drink or two.
June 16, 2008 at 7:16 pm #626405
AnonymousInactiveErik – No prob! It was loud and there were A LOT of people to meet!
It was great seeing you again, btw. Wish we had been able to chat!
June 16, 2008 at 7:18 pm #626406
AnonymousInactiveWho can suggest a quite establishment that also provides adult refreshments?
Since it’s getting nice, maybe the next get-together should be somewhere outside???
June 16, 2008 at 7:19 pm #626407
TrickParticipantI had a blast too. I met Eric,JenV,Todd,JoB, an across the table NewRes wave, and if there was anyone else I’m sorry, I’m horrible with names and a couple glasses of wine doesn’t help either.
Good people on here definitely.
June 16, 2008 at 7:32 pm #626408
AnonymousInactiveTrick – Also someone I REALLY wanted to talk to! Sorry it was only a wave! Hopefully we can all arrange for another get-together soon!
Maybe in July (it could be a monthly thing)?
Anyone???
June 16, 2008 at 7:34 pm #626409
AnonymousInactiveBtw – I also wanted to say how GREAT JanS looked!
Jan – You were radiant! And I loved the dancing!

rs261MemberBelieve it or not my wife and I were there, we just sat outside since we didnt see a gathering of people when we first got there (and since it was so nice). And then of course we saw other people we knew and chatted with them, by the time we left, I think any gathering that was there…was gone.

AnonymousInactiveMy real name is Todd so I can see there may be some confusion in the future. I am assuming the Todd who was there was the Westwood Todd? I guess I’ll be the Admiral Todd.

Bikefor1MemberNext Venture: How about reserving a picnic table or 2 at Alki or Lincoln Park? Potluck? It would satisfy the quiet and outdoor requirements.

JoBParticipantGreat picture.. great time!
i vote for one of the shelters along the water in Lincoln Park.. there is handicapped parking at the bottom of the hill for those who can’t walk down…
lst time i walked the dogs there… i was thinking about that as a great get together spot that would be..

TheVelvetBulldogMemberSorry I missed this – circumstances conspired against me. JoB – glad to see you posting again!
June 17, 2008 at 4:03 am #626417
TheHouseMemberGood luck reserving anything in the city of Seattle….I attempted to reserve one of the pavilions at Lincoln Park a few weeks back for a date in July and it’s booked solid through September.
June 17, 2008 at 4:08 am #626418
JanSParticipantjust remember, y’all…no alcohol in the park without a permit :) Could we really spend the whole time alcohol free? lol…
wsblover aka Todd in Admiral…did I hear something about you being a closet Repub? or just more conservative than some of us (political-wise)? I thought only bleeding heart libs lived in this neighborhood – lol..besides NR ;-)
Trick…Avenue Q was great…funny, cute, raunchy, some R rated, some X rated. My favorite song from the whole show is “The Internet is for porn”…if you hear it, you’ll be singing it – lol. I kept looking around at all the …umm..more senior season ticket holders who maybe didn’t realize that these muppet characters weren’t exactly “Disney-like”…halfway expected them to leave at intermission – …but they didn’t. My advice to all…if you can score tickets, go see it…

AnonymousInactiveHi Jan, I was the one who, a year or so ago, suggested you link your business to your name. I hope it has worked out well for you. It would be great to meet you, NR, House, and so many others I have spoken with over the years.
Maybe BPP is the best place?
June 17, 2008 at 7:05 am #626420
AnonymousInactiveOk… no alcohol allowed at the parks?
Yeah, maybe we oughtta rethink that!
Ok. I can do BPP again. it’s loud, but that’s fun. And there is the outside area!
Can you reserve it?
June 17, 2008 at 9:38 am #626421
alkiguyParticipantSorry to have missed it as well! Our son just had surgery this week and my wife’s parents come into town next week, so life has been a little exhausting this week and we couldn’t pull it together this time. Hope you’re feeling better JanS and great to see that you’re out of confinement!
June 17, 2008 at 3:44 pm #626422
B-squaredParticipantFun meet-up and a great group of folks! i enjoyed meeting fellow community member and look forward to another. also think “hello my name is:” tags are in order since i know for myself there were a lot of names i didn’t catch in the noise.
June 17, 2008 at 3:51 pm #626423
JanSParticipantalkiguy..thanks for the wellwishes…yes, I’m back working, and getting on with things :). I’m sorry to hear about the little one…hope he’s doing OK.Surgery is tough enough when you’re grown up, but for his little age, I bet it was a bit scary for him.:( Thoughts and prayers coming his way…and for mom and dad, too.
June 17, 2008 at 3:52 pm #626424
andreaParticipantI had a wonderful time catching up with everyone, and intoducing the new husband. It was a great way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon! I would love to get together again sometime soon. This time however JT needs to make an appearance :) and NR bring Greg along again. Your man is one hilarious story telling fool! And I didn’t get to talk to Jan or JoB very long, so I would love to hang with you ladies again.
June 17, 2008 at 6:09 pm #626425
katydidMemberyeah, it was fun…so much so that i left and then brought my sister back to meet people…btw, eric…you forgot i was at nr’s table too…that;s my arm and cast in the middle left of the pix….i missed charla and bob also. name tags and slightly quieter or outside bpp venue wuld be appreciated …do you realize how hard it is to type with one hand….wah, wah, wah ;-]

beachdrivegirlParticipantI am sorry to have missed this past event. I had so much fun @ the first gathering I went to and BPP. Does anyone have a large yard that they would open up for a byob and food bbq?I would be the yard is qutie a tight space.
June 18, 2008 at 2:06 am #626427
JoBParticipantbeachdrivegirl…
i wish i could… i rent an incredible deck and yard..
but.. even if i put the puppies at puppy camp for the weekend, i am really not sure how safe the deck is for groups and the grassy area out back is a real ankle turner… let’s just say the owner didn’t bother to prepare the soil before he threw out seed…
i could handle small groups with some help.. but more than that would be a real risk.
Are there any public spaces where we can bring food and booze… even if there is a fee?
