TheHouseMemberStop making this hard. Just pick a bar. I’m sure if you talk to the folks at Elliot Bay we could snag the upstairs portion on an off night….that way we have food and good beer.

AnonymousInactiveHouse – I would love you to be able to stay longer!
You want to start throwing out dates? In July?
June 18, 2008 at 2:50 am #626430
TheVelvetBulldogMemberHouse: Why don’t YOU do it?
June 18, 2008 at 3:58 am #626431
TheHouseMemberI don’t have a problem talking to them as long as Elliot Bay is cool with everyone else (perhaps someone from EB checks the blog)?
Got a date?

JoBParticipantTheHouse…
i think Elliot Bay would be fun..
but i would also like to explore the idea of someplace where we can bring our own food and drinks…
there is just something about pot luck that is so… communal… and healthy.
it’s kind of like the ladybug thing:) I know you get that.

celeste17ParticipantIf we do it in August we could probably do it at my house. I have a pretty big backyard with a deck and my kitchen is scheduled for remodel in July so it should be done by early August. I live near the junction.
June 18, 2008 at 3:40 pm #626435
JoBParticipantceleste17.. that would be awesome!
House.. it’s difficult to know just what to do with you… no… that wasn’t the analogy i had in mind… but you did make me laugh so hard i…….. ok too much information:)

JoBParticipantfor those who noticed that JanS hadn’t been posting much lately and wondered.. she has been too busy doing other things to post.
Imagine that! A happy pain free Jan finding other things to occupy her time:)))
I know all that newfound freedom is going to her head, but I bet she will miss us and wade back in soon.
I miss her. she gets my jokes:)

AnonymousInactiveI was driving around this week and thought that a great option for an outdoor area with food and drinks would be Cristos on Alki.
They have that large, upstairs, outside area.
Has anyone ever used that space for a function? I’m wondering what the specifics are.
June 20, 2008 at 3:26 am #626438
TrickParticipantI threw a Birthday party there once, about 16 people, requested Paella and thought the service was adequate.
Paella was to die for, but as a gathering there’s got to be better outdoor place that’s larger.
*scratches chin*
If it’s during a non-peak hour, why not the patio at La Rustica? I’m sure they’d love a group of us to fill it up in the afternoon, who wouldn’t?
June 20, 2008 at 3:57 am #626439
WSMomParticipantHow about Camp Long. I love that space and it would be big enough for a large group. Perfect potluck location.
June 20, 2008 at 4:10 am #626440
TheVelvetBulldogMemberCamp Long would be awesome – anyone own a Bocce Ball set?
June 20, 2008 at 6:28 am #626441
AnonymousInactiveI’ve never done anything at Camp Long. Can you bring adult beverages?
Does anyone know if or how much they charge for space?
June 20, 2008 at 7:10 am #626442
AnonymousInactiveBtw, Trick, I love the suggestion of La Rustica!
Any excuse to eat there is good enough for me!
June 20, 2008 at 7:38 am #626443
JanSParticipantNR, WSMom…again, Camp Long is part of the Parks Dept…..would have to have a permit for adult beverages…does anyone know what they cost? or what the rules of them are?
It’s been quite a while since I was at La Rustica…I’m pretty sure we could probably fill up their outdoor patio area ;-)
June 20, 2008 at 1:53 pm #626444
TheHouseMemberI held a corporate function at Camp Long last year and in order to have alcohol, you have to carry $1 million in liability insurance…..ain’t gonna happen with our group.

beachdrivegirlParticipantThe one thing that could be nice with either a park or somewhere other than BPP (although I do enjoy it there) is that those with childeren (i dotn even have any) could join us. Could get some new faces.
June 20, 2008 at 4:58 pm #626447
AnonymousInactiveBDG – I think that is a great idea! I am up for whatever is decided. I would love the opportunity for my daughter to meet some kids in the neighborhood, but also enjoy hanging with all the adults.
Whatever is decided works for me! I guess we should have everyone weigh in on what they would prefer?
June 20, 2008 at 7:08 pm #626448
AnonymousInactiveLa Rustica allows children.
BDG – I know that live near there, do you have any idea about using their patio space?
June 20, 2008 at 7:29 pm #626449
beachdrivegirlParticipanti can sure walk over and ask them about it. and I do know (from beach drive blog) that they are presently trying to increase that space as well too.
And yes I agree we just need everyone to let us know your thoughts… :)
June 20, 2008 at 7:32 pm #626450
WSMomParticipantWhat I like about Camp Long is the main building is accessible and comfortable for folks of all ages, plus the field (if the weather is nice) is awesome for kids to run around in. I find that attempting to bring my kids to a mostly adult affair is not much fun for them. As far as my 8 year old is concerned, good food is not enough of a draw to entice him to a party of “grown-ups standing around and talking” hehehe.
Last Saturday, the

WSMomParticipantHey, I just had a great idea…let’s have a get together at Full Tilt! Ice cream, fun games for the kid in all of us!
June 20, 2008 at 8:17 pm #626452
TrickParticipantI have Bocce balls, frisbee’s, squirt guns…and I don’t have kids :)
