thansenMemberIt’s 10:00pm and there are massive fireworks going off in White Center right now. My dogs are freaked out and I’m pissed.

biankatParticipantAccording the the Herald, Jubilee Days is the reason for the ‘wonderful’ celebration. They also reported that the fireworks were to start around 9.

MargLMemberYeah – it was kinda weird. I don’t remember such an echo from fireworks on the 4th. I think the breeze was blowing just right to carry the sound west.

HelperMonkeyParticipantI am in Arbor Heights and heard them clearly around 10pm. I am a little surprised that White Center Jubilee Days thought it necessary to have a fireworks show at 10 on a (for most) work night.

WSBKeymasterHi all, we also mentioned this on White Center Now days ago and it was on the WSB home page this morning. Almost every day, we have a morning preview, and you can trust that if there’s something unusual like this, it’ll be in there.

While it was happening, we also reported it in the power-outage thread, fwiw.
And if you want to check White Center news without leaving WSB, just click the White Center tab, which displays White Center Now stories (set up to bring them in via RSS) … Jubilee Days & fireworks was the third thing down

Woulda gone back to shoot the fireworks but first there was the car through the fence …
