So, what is the latest news?

Now that Boren is opening, can we conclude that the city is letting Fairmount slowly decay?

Does anyone know the 5 year growth plan?

    Thanks!

Looks like the school board was voting on giving a contract to architects Miller Hayashi for the renovation. Google “seattle public schools fairmount park renovation” The link was too long to post here. They stipulated that the work needed to be done by September 2013. So that’s good news, but I did not find anything on who would actually occupy the school.

Nothing about Fairmount Park has been decided – it’s now all awaiting the BEX IV levy. Could be renovated, could be rebuilt.

There’s a meeting for BEX IV input, btw, coming up on April 5th. If you’re concerned about Fairmount or anything else in West Seattle, you might want to be there. Here’s the item from our calendar:

Yeah, I hope they figure some way for it to make a difference. It’s such a great location with the population of the triangle set to grow with all of the apartments opening up.

Frankly, I’d rather see Genesee Hill Elementary re-open to take the pressure off Schmitz Park and Lafayette, which are both horribly overcrowded.
