Evening Door to Door Salesman?

Had a guy knock on our door and ring the doorbell at about 7:30pm Saturday night. I asked who it was and what they wanted through the closed door and all I got in response was some single syllable response I couldn’t make out. After I asked again and it became clear I wasn’t going to open the door the guy went back to his car which he had left running at the foot of our driveway and proceeded to drive to our neighbors and try the same thing (they weren’t home). Guy was about 40 (didn’t get a real good look) and wearing a blue shirt/coat and gray/olive hat.

Anyone else run into this guy recently?
