Congrats, ellenator! I was just coming on here to post that a duplex at the corner of Dawson & Fauntleroy is for rent now – if anyone else is interested, the sign out front says to call 992-3910.

    Ellenater-

WELCOME, My husband and I both are born and raised WS, We love the community and everything it has to offer. Our 3 sons have been very active in WS Sports so if your DS has any interest check out WS Soccer and WS PeeWee Baseball. We have loved being involved with these groups.

Also YMCA has great kids programs all summer.

Alki and Lincoln Park are always a must do for summer time.

    Have a great move

I was just surfing this thread from a while ago and I’d like to remind everyone of the great West Seattle spirit that is sure to come back post election. :)

I’m so happy I live here and I just thought I’d remind everyone what we’re capable of.

Cait, we ARE great here. I’m from the east coast, married a man from here, divorced him, and stayed in WS…have been here for 33 1/2 years now. Would never consider another place, even if there are a few foibles. The people, mostly, are wonderful…it’s home.

I’m with a guy from Rainier Beach and I know he’d love to even move across the bridge, but he knows I wouldn’t have it. I’m plantin’ my feet. I love to travel but if I didn’t have West Seattle to come home to, I’d flip.

Ahhh, this is so great to see. Thanks for the bump, Cait!

After almost four months here I am happy to report that it is all I thought it would be and more. West Seattle is the greatest place I have ever lived. There is not a single day that goes by that I do not think, “what did I ever do to deserve living here?” It is so stunning and I love the people. It’s the best feeling. I still feel like I have to pinch myself… I thought there would be a period of reality setting in, but that has not happened. It’s as perfect as a place can be in the human world!

Just for fun here are some of my favorite places and peoples:

    Cafe Rozella (those tamales)

Full Tilt (mango chili and pinball and Justin is awesome)

Seattle Yarn (they crack me up and are so sweet and the yarn…)

Great Harvest (gluten free stuff and sweet counter people)

Elliott Bay Brew Pub (love the Ahi Tuna and great servers)

Ladro (sweet baristas and great latte flowers)

C & P (nicest baristas, so welcoming and laid back)

Uptown Espresso (Baristas are so nice, even the guys on knitting night. and the foam really is all that…)

Java Bean (best Americano i’ve ever had!)

Luna Park (great memories with my mom, there)

Lincoln Park (best place to recharge and where the boy gets to walk on the logs and build forts)

Alki (great place to get perspective and discover fun new places)

Pet Elements (they found my dog, they are the sweetest, funniest people on the face of the earth, they rule)

Westcrest dog park (super fun doggie meet-up locale)

Camp Long (beautiful, peaceful, the woods)

Square One Books (helpful and fun, hand picked books, feels like a mini Powells)

I know I’m forgetting some but the best place in West Seattle is the blog! It’s such an amazing resource and if it weren’t for the blog, I wouldn’t live here!

    Cheers,

    Ln

I tink the West Seattle spirit has survived even the election…

people are still helpful and interested in one another and this is still a great place to live.
