JunctionCommenterMemberHas anyone installed a pee post in their parking strip, or would you consider guiding your dog (if you own one) to pee on one?
I’m not trying to tell anyone not to pee or poop on my lawn, I am trying to move as much of it to one location so my sapling and flower beds aren’t bathed in urine. Who wants to garden in pee? Not me!
Do you think people or any of you would utilize a designated spot, or would you think I was being a crazy person? I was thinking a pee pole and funny sign with some gravel or woodchips would make for a good potty spot, and make it easier than grass to scoop the poop.
But if people just thought I was being a jerk it might make things worse, even though I really don’t mind the act the volume is the problem.
Is a pee pole a good idea? Is there something else that would be better?

It’s like asking a HUGE FAVOR of dog owners! “Pardon me, I put all this work and love into creating this beautiful garden for everyone to see and enjoy! Could you please not allow your dog to piss all over it? I’ll even sacrifice another area with a special dog-toilet pole, in the hopes that you could please spare my garden..?!” It is ridiculous that a person would even need to pose such a request. Dog owners- don’t let your dogs piss all over everyone’s stuff!! The dog is just a dog, but YOU should know better! Just because you get away with it, it’s still a jerky thing to do!!

JoBParticipanti used to say that they could do whatever they wanted with my parking stip.. but then they put in one of those rain garden things.. which believe it or not has inspired me to step up my gardening game… so i had to get creative
the only method i know of keeping dogs out of the garden is a fence… since i planted mine with rosemary i seldom see dogs stopping to water the plants… but if you don’t like aromatics like rosemary.. consider a barrier of thorny plants… even four legged critters think twice before lifting their legs to thorns.
