ALSParticipantI am interested in removing our existing concrete patio/walkway that runs the length of the side of our yard and extending the grass all the way to the fence. I know we can rent a jack hammer from Home Depot to break it all up, but anyone know how to dispose of all that concrete afterward? Bonus if there’s any sort of eco-friendly option!

KBearParticipantRe-use is about as eco-friendly as it gets…

CarsonParticipantALS, send me a note mark@10thingsithinkithink.com I actually have a jack hammer, right now, in my driveway. Its not mine, but they do good, reasonable work. There are several places that recycle the concrete as well.

KBearParticipantFlowerpetal, is the jackhammer too loud? Did you not hear my previous post?

flowerpetalMemberNo, never KBear! If firemen can have their own candid calendar why can’t jackhammer operators?

KBearParticipantOh, and Carson, I don’t think jackhammering the concrete is the solution to your sidewalk parking problem!

jwwsParticipantALS,
If you don’t reuse it or give it away to someone who will reuse it, Pacific Topsoils accepts concrete in small chunks (under 2 ft) for recycling.
