inactiveMemberWow, it is dusk and there is a song bird calling outside in the canopy where I can’t see it.
I am going to try to describe the call on the long shot somebody will recognize it. I’ve never heard it. Could it be a migrating bird?
First call: like a descending penny whistle followed by three lower octave even tones. Repeating multiple times.
Second call: chip chip chip chip chip… Chip chip chip chip chip…
Long shot, I know.

sunnystuccoMemberJust an FYI, Starlings are very good at mimicking other birds.

inactiveMemberRealllllly? Ya’ know, now that you’ve said that, the chip chip WAS familiarish. The chip chip works for that, but I have never heard the whistling. How cool is that? I had lots of visits from h-birds this season, so it makes sense.
Thanks so much timeslid!

Btw, I can’t believe you found a good way to describe a bird chirp, I’m amazed.
