I’ve been thinking about them and when a friend recently traveled to New York I asked him to bring me back a dozen. Not being a connoisseur, and uncertain as to what they really where, he brought me six. Perhaps he forgot, ate some on the way, or his carry on was too small. With three of us in the office we shared. Oh…the memories…New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco. The mission begins. I had a lovely email chat with Don at Zatz a Better Bagel. I would love bialys locally, but only if they can do a REAL bialy. I had one once out here, and it was pretty much an onion bagel with the hole not going all the way through. Definitely not the same. It would be great to not have to wait until I go home to NYC every 12-18 months to get more!
