We tore up our back patio and have about four tons of concrete rubble for anyone who may want some. We are getting it hauled away July 12-15th, so feel free to pickup anytime before.

Pieces measure 2 inches to 2 feet. Can be used for various projects or as filler. About 25% of it has thin rebar wire embedded in it.

We live in North Admiral. We have a wheelbarrow onsite, but our patio is down a few steps from the garage/driveway. Post a reply and I’ll email you my address.

You might benefit from a shared house situation to hopefully find reasonable rent and a way to build some rental history. If where you land doesn’t have garden space there are several P-Patch gardens in WS.

I had to replace all four wheels on my BMW due to hitting the hole in the on-ramp to highway 99 northbound. I tried to recover the cost from WSDOT but they seem to have a loophole that allows them to not be responsible. I am looking to collect information from others to see if other cars were damaged and when.
Also: Did anyone report this to WSDOT? And when

    Topic: Brown Water

    Hello,

I live at 53rd and Admiral and we have brown water (again!) This is the 4th or 5th time we’ve had brown water since the beginning of June. Each time I’ve spoken to Seattle Public Utilities about it they say it’s the fire department testing hydrants. I don’t get why they’re testing the same ones over and over.

Just a heads up to neighbors.

    Thanks,
    Sabrina

Hummingbirds and their feeders fluctuate wildly from time to time and season to season, so don’t panic if they disappear for awhile. When needed, they will remember where they’ve found food before and will come looking. You are correct that the Anna’s here are pretty territorial, so it’s possible that you may have young immature hummingbirds visiting and enjoying your hospitality. May also be a Mom with a kid or two tagging along. Immature birds can behave differently than adults. If you don’t already know this; they can be distinguished from adults primarily by their necks (females) and heads (males). Young males might start to get their iridescent head feathers, so he might look a little blotchy – but will not yet have the red / magenta head feathers that create a full hood on an adult male. Immature birds look very similar to adult females. The primary difference is that this time of year, they will not have the brilliant red/magenta gorget (throat) feathers that an adult female has. Of course both sex’s iridescent feathers can appear black in the right light – but markings will still be petty obvious. If you are (or anyone else) using a feeder this time of year, I trust it is not left in the sun, and that it gets cleaned every couple days – to prevent bacteria from growing that can make birds ill. Sugar+moisture+heat = growth acceleration.
    Happy Hummer viewing!

Hello – I want to have a sale his coming weekend or next, have experience holding them – but don’t have enough stuff to have a decent sale / drive traffic. I have a potential place to have it, but if you have an actual garage or yard to set it up – might be better. If you have interest – Contact AJ at sostuff@earthlink.net

Hello, I’m Deirdre, looking for leads and recommendations for finding a living space in WS. I’m moving over from Port Townsend, w/flexible timing, ideally between July 15-Aug. 15. I’m 42, female, artsy, work in not-for-profit, have excellent credit and plentiful character references. Seeking a situation where a little gardening could be available, easy access to transit–and where my past rental scenarios of yurts, tiny home, and co-living (meaning no 3-year record of consecutive leases as property mgmt. companies often want) won’t be held against me. I’d prefer a solo space, but glad to live with another if the fit was comfortable. I also have handy-skills I could bring to the table, if a property owner wanted to consider some amount of trade! I can be reached at:971-712-8855.

We found some keys on the pedestrian path at Alki Beach. We have posted a few signs in the general area. Contact us and be able to describe them and we’ll be happy to meet you to hand them off. We didn’t want to risk someone taking them and stealing their car.

Seattle does not have enough tennis courts for the 3.5 million residents who live here and now Pickleball has convinced Parks to get lines striped on many of the tennis courts to make them dual purpose. This has exacerbated the lack of tennis courts problem exponentially and has created conflict between the tennis players and pickleball players. We need to stop adding Pickleball lines to tennis courts and instead build new tennis courts in Seattle and also build dedicated pickleball courts in different areas away from the tennis courts. A proposal has been brought forth to put pickleball lines on half of the 10 tennis courts at Lower Woodland in Seattle. This proposal must be rejected outright. The city should use the $100k+ it receives from reservations for outdoor courts to resurface the Lower Woodland tennis courts as dedicated tennis courts. Please sign this petition if you agree. Only public opinion and outcry can make a difference and action is needed now.

    Why is this important?
Tennis as a sport is growing in popularity and the public needs dedicated spaces to play. Pickleball is a very different activity and has significant noise also involved. Seattle residents deserve to have dedicated tennis and pickleball spaces that are updated and the existing tennis courts should not be striped for pickleball. For our population we are already over 200 tennis courts short and we need the city to help us build more tennis courts and not take them away. This sport helps build community and offers a great way to socialize and be physically active for all ages and abilities. It is becoming much more diverse and accessible and we need the city to support tennis and dedicated spaces for it and not make them dual purpose.

If you are at the point of considering selling it for scrap how much of a donation would it be to a non-profit? More likely you would just be passing the burden of what to do with it over to them. Sell it for scrap and move on.
