Westwood gym?

Any news on whether a new gym will open in the old 24 Hour Fitness space at Westwood Village? In January it was announced that Fitness 19 would open there, but the shopping center’s website no longer lists them, and the gym’s website shows Ballard as their only location around here.

They are continuing to proceed through the permit system. A reader told us the other day that work is under way and a copy of the permit is posted on site – we haven’t had a chance to go by and look. – TR

The Fitness 19 Washington website recently acknowledged they’re opening in Westwood Village. They put up the hours of operation (4 a.m. to 11 p.m.) but don’t say anything about when they’ll open. You can fill out a form for presale notification, but that’s about it.

I walked through Westwood today, and they had a sign in the window that says Fitness 19 will open in fall 2023.

Fitness 19 is signing up memberships now…I got this info from Ed(employee) on Wednesday when I was passing the area. $15/month deal available until 8/15 plus $89 sign up fee(renews at $59/year). Opening in mid-November. They have an office across from the faculty to get your questions answered and will give you a tour.
